Sarah Dessen Triple Feature!

I think I have mentioned before that I am a big fan of books by Sarah Dessen. If you have read her books I think you would agree that they are very well written and the characters are great! If you haven't read any of her books, I am going to a book review of three of her books I have read so far. After you read this post, feel free to email me and talk to me about how much you like/don't like these books and why. Also tell me what other books of hers you have read and tell me how you liked them.
"Along for the Ride". This was the very first S.D. book I ever read and honestly, it's my favorite. It's about a girl named Auden who lives with her mom who is a professor and author. This girl is very smart, so smart that all she focuses on is school and doesn't have any friends. She decides to go spend the summer down in Colby Beach and stay with her dad, step mom, and new baby sister. She does this, because she want's a change and a great summer right before she starts college. When she gets there, she gets a job at her step moms store and meets three girls who are all best friends, and slowly add her to the group and show her what its like to have best friends. Also she doesn't sleep at night. Ever since her parents were up fighting before the divorce she stopped. One night she meets this guy Eli who also doesn't sleep. Together they spend the night hours crossing things off her list that she didn't do as a kid, because all the work was school. They go bowling, get into clubs, and whatever else they can think of. Eli has a dark mysterious side to him too. Him and his best friend Abe used to be the best bike riders around, until Abe died and Eli stops riding and hanging out with friends all together. In this book Auden learns that no matter what life throws at you, you should always get back on the bike.
"The Truth About Forever". This was the second S.D. book I read and its one of the best. Macy lives with her mom who is a real estate agent. Its been a year now since her father died of a heart attack and Macy and her mom busy themselves with work, school, and staying organized. They act as if everything is in its place and they always work hard, everything will be ok. One day, Macy meets a catering group run by this very unoraginzed lady and a few teenage kids. She ends up working with them and spends a great deal of time with Wes, her coworker and the nephew of the owner of the catering company. Wes, her new coworkers/ friends, and her boss show her that not everything is perfect, and it shouldn't be. She rebonds with her mother and they learn a better way to deal with the loss of someone they love.
"This Lullaby." I just finished this one this morning and I have to say its pretty good. Remy doesn't believe in love and you can't blame her considering her mother is starting marrige number five. Remy has a certain check list she goes through with each guy she dates and she thinks she has relationships down to a simple equation. Then, she meets clumsy, silly, nothing-like-her-perfect-guy, Dexter who she can't help like. He breaks every rule of hers like, no muscians since her beet father was one, no eating in the car, no getting to atached and so on. Dexter shows her that even though her mothers marriges never worked out, love is real and they have it. Even if he is unorganized, clumsy, different than the rest, and in a band. Remy may have a reputation, but durring this summer it starts to fade.
I really hope you guys check out these books and let me know what you think of them. You can always email me at, thebestsellerstheatre@yahoo.com

Friday Five!

Hey everyone! So today is Friday and I thought of something new for my blog I think I'll try out. If you haven't read any books by Sarah Dessen, then you really should! She is a great author for teenage girl books. I am currently reading her book "This Lullaby." When I am done with this book I will make sure to post a review(so far so good!) and I really need to post reviews for her books called "Along For the Ride" and "The Truth About Forever". Anyways, I follow her blog (http://sarahdessen.com/blog/) and she does something called "Friday Five". I love reading them and they seem kinda fun to write, so I thought I would give it a go!

1. I have been really stressed out lately because I am taking speech for summer school online and it is a lot harder than I thought! I thought I would just write an essay sort of thing and present it on camerca, but I am learing that there is a lot more that happenes when writing a speech. I have been working all week for my very first speech and even though only my close friends, family, and teacher will be seeing it, I am very nervous. I don't like presenting at all. I guess I am always scared what people think about what I am saying, even the people I love. I have to recod my speech sometime tomorrow and give it to my teacher, so wish me luck!

2. I got my nails done today! I've never been to a solan and gotten my nails done, so when I went today it was quite the experience. The lady that did my nail did a great job and I left the place relaxed and happy with my nails. I went with a brightish pink color and it turned out very well. I hope to be able to keep going more often.

3. Friday the 13th! It's a good day for me since 13 is my lucky number. Weird right? I always have the best luck on Friday the 13th and I love it! So far nothing super awesome (or bad) as happend today, but you never know. The day isn't over yet.

4. My two best friends haven't been talking to me lately and I honestly don't know why! It's a super long story and I won't go into detail, but I was friends with each one of my best friends way before the two of them became friends. With that being said, I hate how they hang out so much and without me. I go on my facebook and all the time I see post about the two of them being together. My one friend, lets call her M. M and I are super close, and we even went to Europe together last month, and she really hasn't talked to me since we got back. We had a GREAT time together and now nothing. My other friend, lets call her S is a pretty different situation. She says how close her and I are, and its true we are close, but she doesn't tell me everything like I do her. She has some family issues and things and I feel like she feels she can't trust me. To make me feel even better she tells M everything, and they haven't even been friends as long! This whole like week they haven't texted me back or called me back. I try to make plans with S but she's always "busy". What the heck? What do I do?

5. Finally, I have been watching a lot of Jenna Marbles on youtube. If you haven't seen her videos, go check them out! (http://www.youtube.com/user/jennamarbles?feature=results_main) Anyways this girl is just one of the funniest people I know. She makes new episodes every Wednesday and honestly, its probably the highlight of my week by far.

Hope you guys have a great weekend! :)

People Like Us movie review!

Now, the movie I really wanted to see over the weeked was Magic Mike, but since I'm not old enough to see it(at least in theater's) I went with my mom to see People Like Us.
I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Banks ever since I saw Man on a Ledge and of course The Hunger Games, but she was really great in this movie. I also really liked Chris Pine after I saw the movie This Means War. With that being said, I figured this would be a good movie since I liked both of the main actors in it. I was right. There was parts where I laughed and parts where I cried! It makes you think and the amazing thing is this movie is based on true events. I know that doesn't totally mean that everything in it is 100% true, but the main story is.
Here's what the story is all about. There is this guy named Sam(Chris Pine) who's father has just passed away and leaves a ton of momey for his daughter and grandson no one knew about. He meets this women, his half sister, Frankie(Elizabeth Banks) and her son and gets a friendship going with them. Durring this whole movie is trying to find the right time and the courage to tell this women, who grew up with a single mom, hardly any memories with her dad, and is trying to raise her own son alone, that he is her sister.
I really enjoyed this movie and I hope you will all go see it, you won't be disappointed. Here's the trailer!

Rock of Ages Review

Yeah, it's been a while since I went to a movie, but now I have and I'm ready to do a review! So the other week I went to see Rock of Ages with my movie going friend, and I liked the songs and the actors in the movie, but that's about it.
This movie doesn't really have a plot. There is a lot of things going on at once, and without the songs and some funny scences, this movie would be really boring. I grew up in a house full of 80's music, so I was really excited to see a musical with all 80's songs that I would know. I am a huge fan of Tom Cruise and Julianne Hough and now of Deigo Boneta who plays one of the cute main characters. I have never heard Tom Cruise sing before, but let me say, he is very talented! The covers of some of the best 80's rock and roll songs were great! After the movie I went on itunes and bought the whole album, the music is good. Russel Brand was also in this movie and his comedy made it an okay movie. Over all, I would probably only give this movie a 6 out of 10 rating. I wouldn't recommend you go spend all your money to see this, but I do think you should buy their songs.

Rome/Paris Trip 2012!

So next week I will be going on a trip of a life time! I'm going to Rome, Italy and Paris, France! This is something I never thought I would have the chance to go on, specially with one of my best friends. I am going with my school, but it's a very small group and one of my favorite teachers is leading it. I'm very scared, I hate flying, I've never been so far away from home, I have to be very responsible with my things, and I've never been out of America and into another coutry or continet. I know that if I don't go on this trip now, I may never have this chance again. My biggest fear is the flying. I have flown a few times before, but not this long or that far away. I'm sure everything will go fine, but I'm still a little nervous.
So what I want to know is have you been anywhere in Europe? What was it like? How long were you there? Any amazing stories you want to share? Email me at: thebestsellerstheatre@yahoo.com telling me about your adventure in Europe, I would love to hear it.
I will make sure to post pictures as soon as I come home and have a post about the trip and the wonderful time I have there. Wish me luck guys!

Help!

I have so much time today because I get a three-day weekend from school! This coming Friday will be my last day of school and then I can post a lot more often. I just did a post about The Buried Life and thought I would make another about my blog.
So I haven't had this blog for very long, and I have gotten busy and not been able to post as much as I'd like, but I'm hoping to change that. Not a whole bunch of people have even looked at my blog and I am thinking of giving up. But before I do, I want to try adding some new things on here to make it more interesting. I might post videos of my book or movie reviews, might do some Q&A's, or any other ideas I haven't even thought of! But what I need is your help. You people out there that read my blog. Tell your friends about it, and give me advice on what I can do to make this better. If you have any ideas of things for me to talk about, short stories you want me to write for you guys, alternative book endings you want me to write (if I have read them), anything you want! I'm already coming up with great ideas right now of so many things I can do on here this summer! So please email me at thebestsellerstheatre@yahoo.com I would really love it!

What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?

I still haven't seen any new movies lately, there really isn't anything out I want to go see. So.. I'm going to talk to you about a tv show and book that I love!
A few years ago there was a tv show called The Buried Life on MTV (its on Netflix now!) and it really changed the way I thought about things. In case you haven't heard of this amazing show, here is a summary:
Four guys, Jonnie Penn, Dave Lingwood, Duncan Penn, and Ben Nemtin made a list of 100 things to do before they died. Some are crazy, some impossible, and some that everyone might like to do. They went out and decided that for everything they did on their list, they would help someone do something on theirs. They have had two seasons of the show and I watch it all the time. My friends and I have even made our own list of things we want to do before we die. Through this show I have seen what some people have to go through in their life and how just the little things make their day. There have been episodes that moved me to tears and some that made me almost pee my pants with laughter. I could sit around on a Saturday all day and watch this show.
So now that you know about their show and their project, I can tell you about the book. The guys made a book filled with wonderful pictures made by random people they met saying what they want to do before they die. There is also stories that people wrote who got to meet the Burried Life and got their help. And there is even stories from all four guys talking about their life before they started this amazing journey. It is pretty incredible.
I would totally recommand their book and their tv! If you have seen the show a few years ago and loved it, get the books its really good. And if you haven't heard anything about The Buried Life, then look up the show on Netflix or MTV.com, and get their book on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. If you want, like them on facebook, or visit their website: www.theburiedlife.com

All right guys!
Sorry again for it being so long since my last post! School has had me working really hard and my friends have been wanting me to hang out with them. Luckily, school is almost over for me and I will have more time on my hands.
Anyways, I'm supposed to be doing a movie review today, but I haven't seen any new ones yet, maybe this weekend. So today I thought I would talk to you about the summer. I'm really exited for summer this year. I'm not much of a school person and I crave the day I can wake up in the middle of the after noon, no stress, go hang out with friends, and enjoy the weather.
My family usually goes on a family vacation for a week in July and right now we are starting to figure out where to go. Right now we are leaning towards a trip to California, which I would love.
But I dont't want to bore you with my family vacation. A lot of the books I have been reading lately are all about summer teen romance. They're cute books and you can't help but wish that would happen to you, right? Well now summer is right around the corner and I can't help but wonder.... Will I have a summer romance like all the novels I've been reading?
I haven't had a summer romance before, but I REALLY want one and hope for it. So what I want to know is have you? If you have, I'll leave my email at the end of this post and you should email me your story. Tell me everything that you want, and let me know how it ended or if it continued through out the school year. I'm hoping to post these soon on my blog, so make sure whatever you email me your okay with others reading. If you haven't had a summer romance like me, go ahead and email your idea summer romance! Maybe there's a guy at your school you've been crushing on forever, it's the end of the school year so why not picture your summer with them? I really hope I get some emails from you guys. I'm not sure when exactly I will be posting the stories, but I will let you know.

Sorry Sorry

Hey guys!
I just want to start by saying sorry I haven't posted anything lately. I've had spring break and my first week back from break and so I have been pretty busy, but I'm here now!
So I thought today I would list my top 5 favorite book/series. What I'll do is list the book, author, a short summery and why I love it. So here we go.... By the way this isn't in any special order.

1.) The GONE Series by Michael Grant- This series is fantastic if you don't mind reading books that are over 500 pages, and is filled with action, mystery, thriller, romance, and all that other good stuff too. This book is great for teens because the whole book is about them. It takes place in a small town where everyone over 15 disapears and the kids are left to take care of themselves. I'm on the 5th of the 6 books of the series and I love them.

2.) That Boy Series by Jillian Dodd- There are two books(so far) in the series and I'm not sure if there will be a third, but these are great books for teen girls. Basically it's this girl named JJ who is so lucky she lives next door to two super hot southern boys that happen to be her best friend. That's really all it is in a nut shell, but they are a pretty easy read and very realistic.

3.) The Summer I Turned Pretty Series by Jenny Han- Don't let the title of this series stop you from reading! I know it sounds like a cheesy title, but I am telling you it's a great story. It's about a girl named Belly who stays at a summer house with her family and another family that are great family friends. She has this huge thing for one of the boys who's kinda like a brother to her in a way since they grew up together, but he's not really into her. Through the first book Belly gets self confidence and grows up which is why this is the title. But really the whole series you see Belly grow up and make choices that are very realistic to one's us girls will/would have to make.

4.) Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen- This is a great book and Sarah is a great author. There are so many relationships in this book for the main character, Auden. Of course there's that summer romance down at the beach, but with a bit of a twist, but there is a lot more than that. Auden goes to stay with her father for the summer where she tries to make some type of bond with him she hasn't had since her parents divorce, she tries to have a relationship with her new step mom, AND make new friends which she's not good at because she has no social life. In a nut shell this is a girl who is all school and nothing else just like her mom. When she goes to the beach for the summer she has a chance to relive the things she missed out on as a kid before she becomes an adult forever. This book is very easy to connect to.

5.) The Hunger Games by Sussan Collins- Now I could go on and on about this series, because they are my favorite book and those of you who are a huge fan probably could too, but for those of you who haven't read them must know how popular they are and might be annoyed with the whole thing. I don't blame you, but I'll try to explain why people love this book so much. Picture yourself in a world where every year you wake up and know that in the next few hours your name or a family or friend's could be chosen and then sent off into an arena to fight 23 other kids the same age until only one is living. Doesn'y sound too fun, right? So Katniss Everdeen the main character takes her sisters place and goes into an arena to fight to the death. The whole book is from her point of veiw and she is so strong, brave, smart, and a great girl. It's an amazing series.

Well that's it. I really hope you guys liked it. Leave a commet telling me if you have read any of the books and what you thought of it, I'd love to hear what you think. And if you haven't checked one out and you fianlly do, tell me what you thought of it. Hope you guys all give these great books a try!

Movie Review: The Lorax

So, last night a group of friends and I went and saw The Lorax together. And I have to say I really liked it. Part of the reason I wanted to see this movie in the first place is because it just seemed like a cute kid movie, and who doesn't like those? Also Zac Efron, one of my favorite actors, and Taylor Swift, do the voices of the characters Ted and Audrey. There was some very cute little musical numbers as well and a bit of an adventure. When I saw the trailer for this movie it looked like it was a movie of a boy trying to get a tree for a girl he likes in a place where trees don't grow, and although this is true it was more than that. A lot of the movie was a flash back and kind of explained why they didn't have trees in their town anymore. Over all, I loved this movie and my friends and I all had a great time acting like little kids again. And if your thinking maybe you want to take your little sibblings with you to see it, they will LOVE it. I had to sick next to two eight year-old boys and they seemed to really enjoy it. I'll here's the trailer..

My Introduction

Hey Everyone!
This is my first blog post ever and I'm very excited! I have wanted to start one for a while and I had an idea of what to write about, but then I came up with those lame excuses. "I have so much homework," "My friends and family want me to spend time with them," "I'll probably give up on it anyways," and on and on it went. Finally I decided I didn't have a lot of homework, I did have time, I still did spend time with my friends and family, and even if my blog doesn't work out, at least I gave it a go right?
So here it goes. I'm planning to do tons of reviews of movies that I have seen. One of my closest friends and I see movies almost every weekend and usually right when they come out. Also I am a huge reader. There are tons of books I am so excited to talk to you guys about and really hope you check them out. Now I do have a life besides movies and books, I am a teenage girl! So I would also like to have different topics I talk about on certain days of the week. I'll have another post soon on a kind of a schedule of a typical week on my blog.
Now, bare with me for a while please, I have read tons of other blogs, yes, but this whole thing is very new to me and I'll admit, a bit over whelming. I really hope anyone out there likes this blog and if not, at least I tried.
